Ramona Library Birthday Celebration

Jimmy Phillips, left, 7, and Thomas Brackman, 9, both of Ramona, sport the “Happy Birthday, Ramona Library” hats they decorated at the children’s crafts table in Ramona Library during the library’s First Birthday Celebration Thursday afternoon. The festivities began with opening remarks from San Diego County Library Director Jose A. Aponte about 3 p.m. and will continue through 6 p.m. with music from harpist Jose Smith of Ramona, refreshments, henna tattoos for the teens, arts and crafts for the children, Irish dancing from Sierra Beggs, Mariachi music from Enedina Lammers and Ballet Folklorico. Friends of Ramona Library sponsored the celebration. The library is at 1275 Main St.
