Gallery hosts artists’ reception

Artwork by Mike Diaz of Ramona will be showcased in the Olde Ramona Hotel Gallery during February and March.

“Mike Diaz’s animal paintings are so real, you can hear the lions roar and the chickens scratch,” said gallery artist and founder Loretta Alfonsi. “He brings the animals to life by starting with the eyes and concentrating on form. Mike also does landscapes.”

Featured with Diaz the next two months is Carolyn Wolf-Russell, a volunteer at Dos Picos County Park in Ramona. Wolf-Russell’s gourds and animals paintings are showcased.

A reception for the two artists will be held in the gallery from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Olde Ramona Hotel Gallery at 845 Main St. is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit the gallery or call 760-789-3682.
