Time’s running out to prepare for Trivia Bee
By Maureen Robertson
Ramona Rotary Club is sending a team to compete in the Friends of Ramona Library Trivia Bee on Feb. 25, but as of Tuesday neither Ramona Kiwanians nor Soroptimists had committed to participate. Two-person teams from the Ramona Concert Association and San Vicente Valley Club are preparing for the friendly contest. Even a mother-son team has registered.
Clubs, organizations, businesses, families, friends and neighbors have an opportunity to put on their thinking caps and get ready for the event, a fundraiser to benefit Ramona Library.
“If you like trivia and TV shows like ‘Jeopardy,’ you’ll enjoy a great evening while assisting the library,” said Racheal Gilmore, Friends of Ramona Library member coordinating the event, which will start at 6 p.m.
As the two-person teams are brushing up on their knowledge, other Ramonans are preparing questions. Among categories are history, books/libraries, art/museum, food/wine, animals, sports, theater and finances. Questions will range from easy to challenging.
The entry fee is $100 per two-person team, and it includes food, beverages, entertainment and wine tasting. The $25 ticket price for others will include the same. An opportunity drawing also is planned.
The winning team will be honored on a perpetual trophy that will be displayed in the library.
“Come join us for a delightful evening,” said Gilmore.
