In California-Curves don't have speed limits they have posted suggested speed. The road way posted speed limit is the speed limit. So the speed limit for the turn could actually be 45 or 55 MPH but the suggested speed might be 25 MPH. Guard rail posts kill because the motorcyclist can go under the guard rail and hit posts. They are trying to change that design in some countries. What was the speed limit on the road where he was killed?

The marine was actually a motorcycle safety instructor and had successful motorcycle racing career after high school which he quit to join the marine corp. He rode palomar on a weekly basis so it wasn't inexperience or lack of training that caused his death. But thank you for your sympathy just wanted to let it be known that it wasn't just a new guy with a new bike joy riding.

I agree, mountain roads have too many uncertainties(dirty corners, other vehicles crossing into your lane, big rocks, water across road etc., etc. ) to ride aggressively or above posted speed limits...I have adjusted my riding to track days to push the skill level/enjoyment of my bike, you get a race prepped, clean track and a more aware group of folks around you.BUT I still enjoy the GLENDORA RIDGE ROUTE,very little traffic and an EPIC road to ride...

RIP. Sympathy to family, friends and coworkers in their grief. Speed kills, over 40 in a 25?Wonder how many onbase track events this guy attended. Obviously trying out his apexes and lines on a mountain road. Sad results. Follow the laws, obey posted limits. Have ridden that road thousands of times. Yet another senseless death!
