PPH continues Hear for the Holidays tradition
Palomar Pomerado Health (PPH) is calling for entries for the seventh annual Hear for the Holidays program, which awards a free pair of hearing aids to the winner of an essay contest.
Participants must live in the Inland North County health district and submit an essay of 300 words or less, explaining why they or someone they know would benefit from receiving a pair of hearing devices.
Essays will be accepted through Dec. 2. The winner will be announced on Dec. 12.
The winner will receive a pair of Phonak digital hearing aids, one of the most advanced state-of-the-art devices in the market, and a lifetime of office visits and care from Dr. David M. Illich, Au.D., FAAA, chief audiologist at PPH.
Illich created Hear for the Holidays in 2005 with the help of Phonak Hearing Systems. It was his way to give back after seeing so many caring people help his Mississippi family recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
Hearing loss affects millions of Americans each year. The American Speech Language Association says about 95 percent of those suffering from hearing loss could be helped with the use of hearing aids.
The winner of the Hear for the Holidays essay contest will be selected based on the following:
• Financial need
• Degree of hearing loss
• Quality of essay
Essays may be e-mailed to email@example.com or mailed to Professional Hearing Associates, 1045 East Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA 92025.
