We see a short term lull in inflationary oil increases of the past few years. Once demand wipes out the slim margin of supply excess, prices will, as you say, escalate.

At that point we believe that governments will promote increased exploitation of oil shale and similar resources, regardless of environmental consequences. It will not be pretty.
