Family grateful for community’s support

Dear Ramona Community,

It was one year last week since the tragic events that enveloped our family and our Ramona friends.

Last August our children embarked on their annual trip to visit their grandparents in Felt, Oklahoma. They flew into Amarillo, Texas, and, while at a convenience store to fill up on drinks and snacks, a deranged monster tried to kidnap our daughter. Her grandmother, Sharrel Blankenbaker, battled the devil and gave her life to protect her most precious possession her grandchildren.

From the moment we received that devastating phone call from our son to the first few calls we made to friends for help, you all stepped into action. Our dog was immediately picked up and cared for, our home taken care of, plane tickets were given to us, computer searches for flights were made.

But most importantly you prayed for us, called and texted us. You have never let us forget how important our family is to you.

We have often said, we would not be where we are in our healing and recovery if it was not for you our friends and family in Ramona. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us so much.

With the utmost gratitude,

Barbara Blankenbaker and

The Blankenbaker Family
