Sheriff’s deputies continue search for armed robbery suspect
Sheriff’s deputies continue to search for a man who robbed Ransom Brothers Lumber & Supply at gunpoint Friday morning.
The man is described as possibly Hispanic, 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 9 or 10 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing, a hoodie, bandanna, gloves and sunglasses when he entered the store at 532 B St. about 9:20 a.m., said Sgt. Christina Bavencoff with the sheriff’s Ramona substation.
He approached the two cashiers, pointing a gun at them and demanding money, said Bavencoff. They gave him less than $300 and he fled on foot.
Sheriff’s deputies searched the area on the ground and from the air, with a sheriff’s helicopter broadcasting a description of the suspect and warning the public that he was armed.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 858-565-5200.
