when kids raise animals as meat projects they do learn care and compassion. if you have a hard time dealing with "factory meat" i'm sorry, that is one of the consequences of our society's desire for cheap food products and a disconnect with the natural process. when my kids had to be part of a slaughter, it was done tastefully and respectfully. their advisor told them that they were helping the animals fulfill their destiny. there was no waste or mistreatment. they also learn to respect the horticultural projects.

do you teach compassion? do you take the kids to slaughter houses? Do you let the kids see the daily torture and inhumane practices at all farms? Just wondering what happened to everyone's brain?
