Presidential Awards

Among the 80 eighth-graders receiving the Presidential Award at the Olive Peirce Middle School promotion ceremony on June 15 are, from left, Ashley Deslauriers, Keyshaun Crichlow, Max Edwards and Amy Hopperton. This is the largest number of OPMS students to ever receive the award. To be eligible, students must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher all seven semesters of middle school and score Advanced on the California Standardized Testing. Recipients receive a certificate and a letter from President Obama. Sentinel photo/Pixie Sulser
