Kiefer faces four more charges in computer porn case

A Ramona man who was facing a single federal charge of possession of child pornography on his computer has four more charges after a federal grand jury indicted him on five counts.

Mark Robert Kiefer, Jr., 33, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on the indictment in U.S. District Court in San Diego on July 19.

Retired fire chief receives rave reviews from his colleagues

After 15 years as head of the Intermountain Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Chief Cary “Dusty” Coleman has resigned. He has been replaced by Jeremy Christofferson, who has been with the district almost seven years and was assistant chief of operations for the past year.

A yard sale fundraiser to help pay for hearing aids for Trevor Voigt, 4, of Ramona will be held at Ramona Fitness Center, 558 Main St., from 6 a.m. to noon.

Two seats open on Ramona Design Review Board

Two community-at-large seats on the Ramona Design Review Board will be open this fall.

CalFire investigators have determined the cause of the Eagle fire to be arson, Battalion Chief Nick Schuler reports.

No further details will be released until the investigation is completed, said Schuler.
