YOUTH

Preschool Storytime: Enjoy a fun story on every Wednesday, at 11 a.m. followed by crafts at 11:30 a.m.

Grandparents and Books: Stories are read from a selection of favorite children’s books on every Thursday at 11 a.m.

Summer Reading Club: theme “One World, Many Stories.”

TEENS

Summer Reading Club: theme “One World, Many Stories.” Summer Reading Club log completion prizes available.

Teen Video Game Arcade: (Grades 6 – 12) play popular games on popular gaming consoles. Saturdays, July 9 and July 23, at 1 p.m.

Girl Scouts: Scouts help with library projects on Thursdays at 2:30 p.m.

Chess Club: Meets on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m.

YAC (Youth Advisory Committee) Meeting: Teens meet to discuss any and all library teen-related programs and activities on Tuesday, July 5, at 5 p.m.

Ninja Challenge: Join teams and compete in mini games and prove you have master Ninja skills! Tuesday, July 5, at 5 p.m.

FAMILIES

Family Crafts: Come one, come all and participate in arts and crafts projects every Friday at 3 p.m. All ages welcome. Friday, July 1, will have a patriotic theme to celebrate American Independence Day.

Yoga: Bring your mat! Fridays, 11 a.m. All ages welcome.

Amazing Dana the Magician: Enjoy magic from all over the world. A humorously wonderful show that interacts with the audience. Thursday, July 7, at 1 p.m.

ADULTS

Tai Chi: Instructor led Tai Chi classes for adults in the Auerbach Community Room on Thursdays at 9 a.m.

National Latino Research Center: Group meeting on Mondays at 5 p.m..

LEARN Citizenship Classes: Learn the newest test format, how to fill out the N-400 application, practice the 100 civic questions and more. On Mondays at 6 p.m. To register, call 760-788-5270 or come to a class.

Bilingual Spanish Computer Helpers: Instruction for beginners on Thursdays at 6 p.m. Call 760-788-5270 for appointment.

GENERAL

Friends of the Ramona Library: There will be no board of directors meeting in July. The next board meeting will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Auerbach Community Room located inside the library. Public is welcome to attend the meetings and the new board of directors would appreciate the community’s input and ideas to make your new community library into your vision.

Sponsorship donations are being accepted for the decorative benches to be placed around the exterior of the library. Please consider sponsorship by your family, business or community group.

Friends Bookstore: Located off the Library Lobby nearest to the front doors off Main Street. Bookstore hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Sundays. The book sale continues to be on the third Saturday of each month; next sale July 16 in the bookstore. Surprise specials are planned for each month. All proceeds benefit the library programs. This is a way to contribute to the community.

Avonelle Box was honored at a farewell luncheon in the Auerbach Community room, sponsored by The Friends of Ramona Library. She was presented with a spectacular statue of books commemorating her years of service to the community of Ramona. Avonelle and friends were treated to a special potluck luncheon that also had some catered items from the Montecito High School Food Trade services. They make some tasty and creative items.

The library will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
