Load of sheet rock blocks Highland Valley Road in Ramona

California Highway Patrol officials anticipate Highland Valley Road at Green Valley Truck Trail will be re-opened by 7:30 p.m. Monday after a semi-truck overturned on the road at 3:15 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved, but the road was closed to allow crews to clear the semi-truck and the load of sheet rock it spilled, said California Highway Patrol Officer Russ Brean.

The driver was heading from the Imperial Valley to Pomona. He took some wrong turns and ended up on Highland Valley Road, said Brean. As he was coming around a sharp turn, the rear tires went on the embankment, the trailer flipping over, and the truck and trailer tipped over on their side, blocking the entire road, Brean added.
