Baseball tournament attracts 47 teams
The 28th Annual Ramona Baseball Invitational (RBI) was a huge success, reports Carrie Bryant, RBI public relations director.
“What a weekend!” she said of the Memorial Day Weekend event.
Forty-seven teams participated, 99 games were played and everyone had a good time. With many vendors on hand and the barbecue smoking all weekend, kids could be seen eating snow cones, kettle corn, pulled pork sandwiches and hot dogs — as well as the ever popular seeds.
More than 100 families camped for the weekend, adding to the family atmosphere.
Movie Night Under the Stars was a hit, but nothing could top the Home Run Derby held Sunday night, May 30, said Bryant. “What a crowd.”
Ramona teams played hard, and the Ramona Rattlers took the PONY 13 & Under Championship, the Ramona Recon took the Bronco 11 & Under Championship and the Ramona Red 9 & Under took the Mustang 10 & Under Championship.
