California LLC

As Donald Trump would say, “You’re Fired!’ The current economic state of California should not be entirely blamed on the governor’s office, but rather on the most ineffective legislature that has ever been elected. These crooks have sold us down the river and it’s time to try something new: California LLC. Let’s turn California into a limited liability corporation. All of the legislature will be terminated, along with all of the city mayors, eliminate the unions and all pensions and let’s start fresh. Our operating plan will be based on a partnership in which all legal residents will have one share each and will receive a K-1 at the end of each year for their share of income or losses, which they would report on their federal tax return. California would not have any personal or property tax, just a simple 10-15% sales tax that everyone pays.
The state would be run by a board of directors elected by the partners (all legal residents of California) to represent education, transportation, health care, social services, public safety, etc. The board would appoint a CEO who would have a base salary (as would the board of directors) along with a bonus plan should certain goals be met. The election process for the board of directors would be online to reduce costs. City mayors would be replaced by regional managers who would hire staff as needed and would report to regional directors (the state would be divided into 6 regions), who would be on the same compensation plan as the CEO and Board of Directors. The state legislature would be eliminated and all decisions/laws normally decided by the legislature would be handled by the CEO and the board. The CEO would be hired on a two-year contract and the board would be four years. Will this ever happen? No. But it’s time for all of us to voice our dissatisfaction and demand a change instead of more of the same, which hasn’t been working for a long time. The state legislature has refigured and further extended benefits for public employees for the past 12 years and it will continue until we stop it.
