Boys playing up to 13 basketball games in 15 days

   Ramona High’s varsity boys basketball players are into the busiest part of their schedule.
   The Dawgs are in the Imperial Tiger Classic and will play in the Mar Vista Tournament and the Chula Vista Tournament in during the school district’s winter break. In all, the Dawgs will play up to 13 games in 15 days. And some think that Santa is busy this time of the year.
   At press time, the Dawgs had a 2-1 record.
The Ramona Bulldogs won their first game in the Imperial Tiger Classic by beating Desert Mirage of Thermal, Calif., 83-42 in the Dawg House. Every Bulldog played and scored in the victory.
   Andrew Alcaraz scored 25 points to lead all scorers. He hit three 3-point shots and had three steals on defense.
   Keith Scheib played well at both ends of the court. He scored 10 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists.
   Kwayde Miller came off the bench and made his presence felt in a big way. Miller scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and blocked three shots.
Josh Lieber also played well on both ends of the court, scored 9 points, grabbing four steals, and dishing off three assists and hitting two 3-point goals.
Bryson Garcia made his presence felt in the paint, leading all rebounders with six boards. He had three assists and scored 2 points.
   Jared Engler (8), Zach Windes (6), Garlan Marshall (5, one 3-point goal), Adam Watson (2), Quintin Wright (2), Sean Leahy (2) and Jake Wolf (2) also scored for the Dawgs.
   Ramona dropped its second game in the Tiger Classic to Olympian High School 67-63 on the road.
Windes led the Dawgs in scoring with 13 points. He hit two three point goals.
   Alcaraz scored 12 points and hit one 3-pointer. Lieber contributed 8 points from his point guard position. Engler scored 9 points and hit one 3-point shot. Garcia played well in the paint and scored 10 points. Marshall (2), Wolf (4) and Scheib (5) also scored for the Bulldogs.
   Ramona shot 19 of 32 from the charity stripe, and two Dawgs—Garcia and Engler—fouled out in the final period.
   The games in the Mar Vista and Chula Vista tournaments are to be announced, so check the daily papers for times and places.
