A time to give thanks
As a relative of mine would say, “it doesn’t matter what we’re doing or where we are, it’s all about the fellowship.” And he’s right. Thanksgiving is a day to truly appreciate all that we have (and I’m not talking about personal possessions or how much money we make or have in the bank); it’s a time to enjoy the fellowship of family and friends. It doesn’t matter how much or how good the food is—it’s the fellowship that can never be experienced again. Thanksgiving also serves as the official kickoff to the holiday season, a time when firsts and lasts are common place. For the new members of a family, it’s their first Thanksgiving together, and for our older friends and relatives, it could be our last Thanksgiving together. So this year, be sure and take time to give thanks and to enjoy the fellowship of family and friends.
I also want to say thank you to our readers, advertisers, the folks of Ramona who volunteer and donate to our local nonprofits, schools and community events that make our quality of life in Ramona so special. Thank you to my staff at the Sentinel. As the only completely local newspaper in Ramona, they work very hard to provide the highest quality local news, sports, community information and advertising every week, along with our freelance writers and many community contributors. Have a great holiday season and thanks, again, to all.
