Pop Warner Mitey Dawgs end season with big win

The Ramona Pop Warner Mitey Dawgs ended the season with a big win, going against the Vista Buccaneers for a second time this season in the Packwood Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Ramona’s Bulldawg Stadium.
But this time they came out the victors with a 27-0 win. The Mitey Dawgs were pumped and ready for the Buccaneers after losing to them last time in the last 10 seconds of the game. The Ramona team started the game receiving the ball and quickly took control of the game.
Dominic McManus scored the first touchdown.   The defensive line stood its ground with Seth Dalton helping to stop the Buccaneers from scoring. The first quarter ended with the Mitey Dawgs ahead 6-0.   Quarterback Cameron Necochea scored the next touchdown with a quarterback keeper in the second quarter. Casey Buggelin’s extra point kick made the score 14-0.
The strong hold of Sean McDonald, Trevor White and the defensive line is credited with again stopping the Buccaneers offense. The half ended after Casey Buggelin’s 35-yard punt and Matthew Duvalian’s tackle stopped the Buccaneers cold on the 50 yard line.
The second half began with quarterback Christopher Celaya completing a pass to Dominic McManus for another touchdown, after a failed extra point, making the score was 20-0.
The Mitey Dawgs then held the Buccaneers from scoring again after Casey Buggelin, Cameron Magnino and the defensive line made some great tackles, said their coaches.
The 4th quarter brought the last touchdown when Christopher Celaya made another pass, this time to Colton Snyder in the end zone. Christopher Celaya then ran in the extra point, making the final score 27-0 for the Mitey Dawgs.
After an onside kick was recovered by Tyler Steglic, the defensive line held the Buccaneers with the help of great tackles by Dawson SanFilippo, Jonathan Clack, Casey Buggelin and James Zazas.     Coach Bernie Celaya said the team played an excellent game and enjoyed coaching them this year.
