Golfers end season with 7-7 record
Ramona High School’s varsity girls golf team placed third in the Valley League Meet held at Admiral Baker Golf Course. The Lady Dawgs shot a 478.
It was the first time that the girls had to play 18 holes in a match this year. Ally Harvey shot the low score for the Lady Bulldogs. She fired a 92 on the par 72 course.
Catie Sundberg finished one shot behind Harvey with a 93. Three other Lady Dawgs broke 100. Kammy Fitting shot 86, Kelsey Perry shot a 97, and Kellsie Domnitz shot 98.
Four Lady Bulldogs advanced to day two of the North County Conference Tournament. Perry shot a very respectable 88 on the par 72 course to turn in the low score for Ramona. Harvey recorded a 94. Fitting shot 101 and Kellsie Domnitz recorded a 105.
“Those were very good results for girls who had not played 18 holes all season,” said Coach John Rathbun. “We have everyone returning for next year. We have a promising season ahead of us.”
The Lady Dawgs improved as individuals and as a team and finished the year strongly to end up with a 7-7 record.
