VFW stages toy drive, Marine Corps birthday celebration on Nov. 7

   Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3783 in Ramona will be a busy place
Saturday, when the Wicked Stangs Mustang Club holds its Christmas Toy
Drive and the U.S. Marine Corps celebrates its 234th birthday.
   Car club members will collect toys for donation to the Ramona VFW
Adopted Military Families for Christmas at the second annual toy drive.
Those wishing to donate a new unwrapped toy or make a cash donation may
bring their donations to the VFW post at 2247 Kelly Ave. or call the
post at 760-789-7888. The car club Web site is wickedstangs.com.
   The Marine Corps birthday celebration will start at noon. All Marine
regulars,  Marine reservists, retired Marines and veteran Marines and
their families are invited to participate in the long-standing
tradition. The free ceremony will include the reading of the Marine
Corps Commandant’s birthday message and the traditional cutting of the
cake with a Marine Corps sword.
