Dawg Pack tames Temecula

The Dawg Pack beat Temecula Saturday, 22-0, to remain undefeated.
Even more impressive is the fact that the Dawg Pack defense has not allowed a score in 12 consecutive quarters of play, said the team’s coaches, Lyn Jordan, Andy Robinson and Toby Vazquez.
The Temecula quarterback was sacked five times, twice by outside linebacker Noah Graves, in The game on Sept. 19. Jacob Buckley, Blake Workman and Bryce Cox also each had a sack.
Groves also had two interceptions. Ryan Deveraux recovered a fumble after the ball was striped by Raul Briseno.
Hard hitting by Hunter Summit, Michael Salas, Drew Robinson, Parker Christopher, Matthew Shaw and Grady Vazquez kept Temecula from mounting an offense.   The closest Temecula came to scoring was on a 40 -yard kickoff return.
Jordan Wisnoski saved the touchdown by tackling the runner on the fifteen. Temecula inched closer to the goal line, but on fourth and two, Erik Schmidt dropped the running back on the 1 yard line, returning the ball to the Dawgs.
The O-line, Jeffrey Guthrie, Tanner Michaelis, Jordan Wisnoski and Kenyo Chrichlow, and center Cameron Krohne, paved the way for the offense.  Catches by Sean Stemm, Max Edwards and James Petersen kept the offense moving.
It didn’t take long for the Dawg Pack to get on the scoreboard.  After a 20-yard run by Tyler Vargas, quarterback Garret Binkley ran the ball into the end zone.
The second quarter score came after fullback Adam Paredes caught a pass setting up a run by Tyler Vargas.  Late in the third quarter, as the Dawg Pack was driving down field, a penalty against the Dawgs looked like it was going to stop the drive.  But receiver Erik Schmidt came through with two receptions in a row, gaining back the lost yards and more.
Two minutes into the fourth, running back Tyler Vargas scored.
Next week the Dawg Pack is away at San Marcos.
