Social services agency needs help
An agency focused on helping others needs help.
With the struggling economy and the continual job losses in the region, the need for assistance in the community is growing, said Brian Moore, general manager of the Ramona Food and Clothes Closet, Ramona’s original backcountry thrift store and social services agency.
The food and clothes closet assists more than 300 low-income and needy adults, children and seniors in the community monthly with emergency food, clothing and other social programs.
“The availability of non-perishable food for our food pantry is seriously low and we are asking the community for its help,” said Moore. “Our immediate and specific needs are canned fruit, vegetables, soups, meats, dry rice, pasta, cereal, peanut butter and oatmeal.
“We also accept monetary donations. All donations made to Ramona Food and Clothes Closet are tax deductible and are greatly appreciated.”
Ramona Food and Clothes Closet is at 773 Main St. Donations are accepted Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit the Web at www.ramonafoodandclothescloset.org or call 760-789-4458.
