Airtankers stop brush fire in Dulzura, CalFire reports
Retardant drops from airtankers stopped the spread of a 1- to 2-acre brush fire off Marron Valley Road in Dulzura behind the gun club in the 1000 block of the road, CalFire reported. The fire is in sparse fuels within the boundary of the Harris Fire of 2007.
The incident commander has 4 engines at scene and is requesting one fire crew to continue in and will be canceling the aerial firefighting equipment shortly, according to CalFire. There is no threat to structures and firefighters will be on scene to mop up hot spots. The fire was reported at 3:45 p.m. and the cause is under investigation.
