Gallery showcases Colors of Spring
The public will have the opportunity to meet artists Kathleen Bellows and Edward Juarez at the Olde Ramona Hotel Gallery at 845 Main St. from 4 yo 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.
Bellows and Juarez are featured this month and next in the gallery’s Discovery Room.
Also showcased throughout May and June are works by other artists in the cooperative gallery. “Colors of Spring” is the theme of the artwork featured.
Bellows had a budding career in art when she was an art student. Her works were on display in Phoenix and on permanent display in New York City and Washington, D.C.
She put her brushes aside to raise two sons and five daughters. With her children raised, and after a brief collaboration with world-renowned artist Howard Behrens, she picked up the brushes and, inspired by the bond she has witnessed between sisters, has created work that captures that special bond between all young women, young in years or young at heart.
Juarez is an impressionistic painter who says his palette is limited to love, respect and gratitude. After several years of what he describes as great experiences with San Diego’s plein air painters, he said he gained confidence and focus, and enjoys the color, light and enchantment of the natural world.
