Citizen Academy signups until March 11
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is accepting applications for its Citizen Academy until March 11. Class size is limited to 50. The academy, slated for April 18 and 25, are information-packed sessions to acquaint participants with department operations.
Among topics: K-9 Demonstration, Jail Tour, Crime Scene Investigations, Financial Crimes—Crime Prevention and Sheriff’s Museum.
Those attending both sessions will receive a graduation certificate. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. They will undergo a background check before acceptance into the academy. For application information, call Kelly Marline, crime prevention specialist at the sheriff’s Ramona Substation, at 738-2425.
