Finding your steppingstone to overall fitness

Every year the same thing takes place right around Jan. 1.  New Year’s
resolutions are made and the gym is packed for about four weeks and
then suddenly the numbers begin to dwindle and as January turns to
February many of those “fitness resolutions” have been broken.
I know many of you have already decided that “getting in shape” is your
goal for 2009.  But have you really taken the time to reflect on what
that means to you?  Deciding to “get in shape” is a great idea, but
without specifics, then the goal is often blurry.

Sunrise: What was lost, what was won

By Diane Conklin

After years of effort that united backcountry and coastal communities
in the battle to defeat an unneeded and unwanted powerline, it is time
to take a look at what was lost and what was won.
In light of last  month’s 4-1 vote by the California Public Utilities
Commission (CPUC) to build the so-called “Sunrise Powerlink”
transmission line in southern San Diego County and ending in Sycamore
Canyon off of Highway 67, close to Ramona as the crow flies, one might
be tempted to say the grand opposition has lost.

Thanks for the support

2008 was a year of change for the Sentinel. New Publisher, new size, a
new classified department, some new editorial features, a re-designed
Web site, the accounting moving down the hill and now back in the
Sentinel office. And through all of this, the Sentinel staff has kept
the faith and given me their support as we have worked through these
changes.

No time off for RHS’ head football coach

The high school football season is over. The banquet is over. Ramona

way!
“This is a very busy time for high school coaches. Recruiters are
calling and stopping by and we have seniors that want to continue their
football careers. Thirteen seniors have expressed an interest in
playing some form of college football. Five are being actively
recruited by four year colleges. There is work to be done.

voted on all of the awards but one.
