Marine Tradition

Lt. Col. Bob Darron holds the sword as Staff Sgt. Karl Randall, the youngest Marine present, and Sgt. Jim Barnes, the oldest Marine at the celebration, get ready to cut the cake at the party held at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3783 in Ramona to mark the 233rd birthday of the U.S. Marines. Tradition calls for the oldest Marine and the youngest Marine present to cut the cake with a sword and serve it to everyone at the party.
