One might not get the full impact of Scott Brown’s tenacity upon a
first meeting. The integrity is there, but so is the firmness of
resolve and dedication for the people and organizations in Ramona and
the surrounding mountain communities.
“It’s about the people in the community,” explains Brown. “When you

Now is a good time to consider hiking in the backcountry to catch the best of the fall colors and slightly cooler temperatures.
Stonewall Peak, near Lake Cuyamaca, is a favorite with hikers because
of the panoramic view from the summit. On a clear day, it’s possible to
see Salton Sea and Anza-Borrego Desert from this spot in Cuyamaca
Rancho State Park. The mountains of Baja California can be viewed to
the south, Cuyamaca Peak to the west and Lake Cuyamaca to the north.

apple and it was last seen on Julian’s Main Street. It is believed to
be hiding inside one of Julian’s businesses, in plain sight, said
Turner.

The bright light on the horizon is planning for Thanksgiving with family and friends. We cannot change what has already passed; we now can concentrate on celebrating our own special harvest.

Owning a sound horse is a blessing that many horse owners have but do
not appreciate, until the horse is lame. There are many reasons why a
horse may become lame, such as arthritis, wounds, disease, foot
problems, sprained/strained tendons and ligaments, and even broken
bones. This month’s article looks at the especially frustrating tendon
and ligament injuries.

Last month, this column dealt with the early history of our two
national parties, and some of their more recent successes and failures.
We’ll continue with earlier history, and finish up with how things are
now, with what I identified as Party X and Party Y. If you read last
month’s issue, it probably became obvious as to which was and is the
conservative or the liberal group. Back to the future:
